Allied Printing Services, based in Manchester, Connecticut, posted a video announcing the expansion of its digital printing service. Allied installed its sixth Xeikon 9800 digital rotary press this year, which completes a fleet of 15 digital presses in total. On the finishing side, Allied installed an additional new Polar cutter and five Horizon benders to increase post press operations.
These investments in 2021 follow an active 2020 which saw the addition of a Komori Impremia IS29 inkjet press and two digital web presses.
John Sommers, President and CEO of Allied, said: “While we are excited to add new equipment to serve our customers, we have focused on people and processes. We doubled our digital space with a construction project entirely carried out by our in-house maintenance team; the new layout has optimized our workflow.
“Most importantly, we hired over 40 new employees in 2021,” he added. “The majority of these new faces can be found in our data processing, programming, digital printing and finishing departments. Our head of digital printing, Ben Fournier, has done a tremendous job managing growth in the midst of change.
