The Department of Arts and Design (DAD), housed in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, collaborates with the Department of Communication to offer an interdisciplinary specialization in art, design and creative media in visual communication leading to master’s degrees and doctorate. Applications are invited for the position of Full/Associate Professor specializing in Fine Art or Digital Art. Qualifications

Applicants must be a contemporary artist active in fine art or digital art with significant national/international exposure or design record. Applicants with a PhD or DFA in fine or digital art or closely related fields with successful teaching experience at the university level may apply for the position. In addition to the technical skills required for the specific field, the successful candidate must also be a well-rounded artist and educator demonstrating in-depth knowledge of contemporary art, criticism and theory, and has the ability to supervise MFA students and DFA for their theses and dissertations. The successful candidate must also demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. While applicants must be excellent in Chinese (spoken and written academically), excellent English is considered an asset for the position.

The selected candidate is expected to take office by 2023.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP 1,210,300 (approximately USD 149,420) for the position of full professor, 1,019,200 MOP (approximately USD 125,830) for the position of associate professor will be proportional to the academic qualification of the successful candidates and relevant professional experience. The current maximum local income tax rate is 12%, but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
