CHANNELL Anivai, also known as Shawk23 because of her work, is eager to set the standard for her fellow art creators across the country and the Pacific.
Mr. Anivai from Kairuku in Central Province, who entered the market in 2019, has amazed both customers and social media followers with his work as a graphic designer and motion designer.
Before running his own company SHAWK23 Design and Media, he was employed at Digicel TV (TVWAN).
But seeing that he can be his own boss, he left the TV industry to work as a Creative Director and Head of Design, taking on all design projects and administrative tasks for his own company, such as finance, communication and client liaison.
Commenting on his day as Creative Director and Head of Design, Mr. Anivai said, “My day is usually busy, especially during the week. I schedule all of my client meetings and review / respond to emails in the morning, run errands during the day including going to the gym and doing school bus service, then working on projects in the afternoon / in the evening until midnight or later.
But that’s not all, the best part of doing what he loves and enjoys is the freedom to be in control of his time and to decide what projects he will and won’t do.
In business for over two years, Shawk23 has more than 15 clients ranging from SMBs to businesses.
Two of his designs have been used as covers for various foreign publications.
Mr Anivai has stated that he would like to own and manage a creative studio, branding agency or animation / motion design studio in the near future.
He said he also wanted to be one of the best creative artists in the Asia-Pacific region – not just PNG, and to be a pioneer in digital art and animation in PNG and the Pacific.
“Be a student for life. Be someone who never wants to stop learning and growing. Learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable, to accept that struggle, difficulty and failure are part of the journey and that it is a marathon, not a sprint – it will take time.
“But with hard work, determination and a strong mindset, you can achieve the impossible,” he said.
