Dubai: For an ethereal experience for art connoisseurs and amateur art lovers, the Digital Art Theater (ToDA) is a must visit in Dubai. Taking advantage of digital innovation, masterpieces of art come to life in this space located at Souk Madinat Jumeirah.
Launched in 2019, ToDA is an immersive art space spread over 1,800 square meters. The theater has surround sound and large HD screen projection on all walls and ceiling. Once there, you’ll feel cocooned in the art you enjoy as all surfaces come alive with the projections and accompanying music.
While the focus is on art in this new way, ToDA also has something for everyone when it comes to activities. From live music nights and yoga classes to adult masterclasses and children’s activities, ToDA has something for all ages and interests. The space is also open for private events.
The subject matter of the art exhibits ranges from classics to contemporary art. “Being Van Gogh” speaks for itself in terms of subject matter and mastery of craftsmanship that you will enjoy in 360-degree magnificence. The other shows are “Klimt & Japan” and “Klimt & The Impressionists”.
Music and art
A perfect fusion, ToDA’s musical events are a testament to how classical music and jazz complement the ambiance of the space and the art on display.
For example, their “From Monet to Kandinsky. The show “Revolutionary Art” is accompanied by a live musical performance by Soren Lyng Hansen, a famous cellist, double bass player and talented Danish pianist.
Another show to try, in addition to the regular live jazz evenings which are a fun performance, is “Frédéric Chopin: The Life and Music of the Piano Legend”. World-renowned Polish pianist Andrej Wierciński will reveal to visitors the biography and musical pieces of a Polish composer, Frédéric Chopin, in an original performance.
Fitness, children’s activities, masterclasses
Visitors can also enjoy the calming space and art with a morning yoga class. With COVID, you have to bring your own mat, but that means year-round air-conditioned yoga classes with beautiful “views”.
For children’s activities and masterclasses, there are many options. In most cases, visitors will also be entitled to ToDA Cafe refreshments included in the experience prices.
